The Furry Scurry

Over 6,000 registered at $50 a pop to raise money for the Dumb Friends League celebrating 100 years of caring for animals and finding them loving homes.

Participants walked with their pets for 2 miles around Washington Park in Denver, Colorado.

Adoring owners and happy dogs made for a little stinky but peaceful and entertaining day in the 'mile high city'

A spectator secures his spot

Running to the starting line...

Wow, a big crowd!!

Lots of smelling

All shapes and sizes

"You talking to me...?"

He's slobbering to go...

Proud owners

Beautiful faces

Say "it dosen't smell too bad..."

The Weimaraner's are rearing with energy...

Big dog, little girl

"Oooh, is it time for some Grey Poupon"?

"...yet another laaazzzy day...at the lake."

When visiting other places and witnessing stray dog and farrow cat problems it makes me realize how important efforts to keep animals off the streets are and what a difference it makes to a place. Thanks to the efforts of organizations such as The Dumb Friends League our city streets here in Denver are nearly free of homeless animals.
