The Elati Garden First Friday Art Fair(s)

Elati Garden is a community garden and part of the Denver Urban Garden system. It has been my second summer home, sanctuary and haven for four wonderful summers now. The community surrounding this garden is talented and vibrant,,,thus my idea to start a First Friday Art Fair.

Only two block from the bumping Santa Fe art district, which comes alive on first Fridays, the garden is now the perfect starting point for an evening of savory food, inspiring art, good people and jamming vibrations.

Bringing people together in the name of art, community and ethically grown food is success to me!!!

For the Financial Times in the UK through Zuma Press.

The story covered people who are being taken advantage of with trial loan modifications.

The Bailey's both worked in the housing industry. Jesse worked as a Project Manager and Joleen had a job in Interior Design. Joleen was eight months pregnant when the housing industry crashed and soon both were laid off.

In this time of crisis the Bailey's took out home loan modifications in order to keep their home, however, the modifications have left them owing more on their house than before and with higher payments.










Jesse built this arbor for the Bailey's backyard wedding. It now holds 2-year-old Brooklyn's swing.





Jesse and Joleen are thankful to be employed once again but both are working outside of their field. Joleen recently designed a new kitchen for their home and Jesse installed it along with new wood floors. It is inspiring to see a family persevere in hard times and continue to grow.

Elati Gardens' First Friday Craft Fairs in July and August

The Elati Garden in the Santa Fe art district is part of the Denver Urban Garden system and a meeting ground for talented artists who are hosting a crafts fair to share their wares on Friday July 2nd and Friday August 6th from 1 pm to 8:30 pm.

Kids come by and get your faces painted, play carnival games and let your imagination run wild in the magical garden.

The Elati Garden, part of the Denver Urban Garden system, is located at 840 Elati Street Denver CO 80204 between 8th and 9th Streets on Elati just 2 blocks east of the Sante Fe Art District.

This neighborhood and garden is home to talented artists who will be selling their wares from 1pm to 8:30 pm on Friday July 2nd and Friday August 6th.

Attendees can enjoy a cold drink, snacks and music while perusing. There will be free carnival games and face painting for the kids.

Enjoy original art, crafts, chair massages and second hand items like CDs and books. 10% of proceeds go to the Elati Street Garden.

*Chef Daniel Young, an Elati Garden neighbor, is cooking and selling healthy and delicious street tacos using ingredients plucked fresh from garden from 6 – 8:30 pm on both Fridays. Fresh from the premier of his “Chef D Says” cooking segment on the television show Barbershop on Fox TV on June 27th he is ready and excited to cook for you!
